Our Team

The Temple Diabetes Program helps you take charge of your diabetes.  Our team focuses on your diabetes and offers education classes that will help teach you about diabetes and empower you to make healthy choices.

Ajaykumar D. Rao, MD, MMSc, FACP, is board certified in Internal Medicine and provides comprehensive endocrine care to patients. Dr. Rao’s clinical interests include management of type-2 diabetes and hypertension. He completed a fellowship in Endocrinology at Tulane University School of Medicine in New Orleans, LA.

Casey McKinney, RD, LDN, CDE, Diabetes Education Coordinator, is a registered and licensed dietitian. She will help you make a personalized meal plan using the foods that you enjoy and the foods you already have available in your home. She also serves as the coordinator of the program and provides education, counseling and support to promote diabetes awareness and improve diabetes care to patients and the community.

Lindsey Verano, RD, LDN, CDE, Diabetes Nutrition Educator, is a Registered Dietitian and Certified Diabetes Educator who has over 5 years of experience working with patients with diabetes. She has seen firsthand how incorporating healthy eating and lifestyle changes help patients to improve their diabetes control and quality of life.
